Do you know why a crap ton of people here in SEA have aspirations to go pro? Because of the amount of opportunity, tournament-wise. They don't just rely on being a pubstar pickup, or making their name from FACEIT online tourneys. With the multitude of compshops, and the tournaments that these shops hold, there is the lure of competitive LAN experience. Just scrap together a group of friends, pay the entrance fee, and boom. It isn't just some online tournaments and battle cups. It's not as easy there in EU, because gaming cafes are far less prevalent. You're going to be relying almost exclusively on online tournaments and pubstar status, to break into a Dota team.
I'm just thinking of reason after reason that making a full committal to going pro, to the extent of not going to school, is a bad play. IDC what kinds of social welfare your country may have, it's always better to have the backup of a degree.
