Hi this is by no means a post with stemming from bad intentions towards Team Secret of witch I'm also a fan of; but more to ease my problem solving urge. Which I got since introduce to strategy type games etc AOE2.
Secret is currently the most dota team I can remember since TI 1. This last iteration of Puppy's (hands down best captain currently) team looks unbeatable. But I watch the reverse sweep Nigma did to them a few months ago against them. So they are still human with weaknesses. The weaknesses my be small and hard to find but for sure they are there.
From my 2k trash perspective they level of understand how the game should be played looks just a little bit higher then there closest competition OG. Of watch a lot of there competitive games and others. There is not anything that stands out a lot bigger that they are doing and the other teams not, that is giving them that edge.
We all played games whether digital or physical. When face with a difficult opponent. You would analyse them to find a way to beat them and of course practice.
But in the case currently it just looks like practise is not the problem. The opposition are all pro's and comfortable playing together. So I dont think practise will solve the " problem"
The issue in my opinion must be the game understanding, stratergy etc. Looks to me this is were teams should improve themselves to be able to beat Secret. This could force the game behind the scenes side to change for the better and more professional. My be in my ignorance its all ready like this. But looks like analysis and better equip couching staff is needed.
I'm interested in hearing the communities thoughts on how to beat Team Secret or improve themselves up to Secret's current Lv?
yes since start of omegaleague we all knew secret's gonna win and I was looking for such thread in forum
they are faaar better than other teams and " in every match they know what they are goin to do and they success"
any idea how a team can win team secret? anyone noticing their weakness?

8 straight tourney wins is insane, on top of winning the last LAN major before the suspensions...
I don't think anyone expected this roster to be this dominant, but moving Nisha to mid and adding Matu has been so broken. No current roster in any region can compete. The EU region has actually gotten stale in that regard, yeah it's probably the highest level of pro Dota but everyone knows Secret will win it at the end.
I actually want to see if this iteration of Secret can beat the OG roster that went back-to-back TI, but you'd have to convince Jerax to unretire and train again, and Ana to come back also.
Looking at statistics, the current closest competitors in terms of placements and head-to-head would be Nigma and VP.Prodigy, with OG, Liquid, and Alliance close behind.
Nigma could probably have a solid chance with their current roster once Kuroky returns from his medical layoff.
VP.P need to sign a veteran presence for pos 5, even if they're supposedly the "youth squad".
OG need a dedicated pos 1 player. If they could get one, move MidOne back to offlane and Ceb can go back coaching.
Not sure what Liquid needs to get over the hump tbh, considering their roster has been stable since 2018 back when they were in Alliance.
Alliance needs to stop letting s4 draft, kek... honestly they just need Limmp to stop losing lanes that he should draw to Nisha.
^I don't even think the changes you mentioned would make any difference when facing Secret. they will lose probably
unless patch changes alot and other players get alot better...

It is an interesting question. To me at least, it seems that Secret drafts pos 5 that are very hard to kill.
Like Ench, SD, KOTL, AA. All are relatively quick on their feet and have an escape mechanism or can dish out damage from a far. They don't give up much gold that way.
Pos 4 are elusive nukers like void or ES that can escape with blink. Doesn't give up much gold there either.
Pos 3 tank or another nuker, synergizing with pos 4.
If you don't die you don't need to use your buybacks.
So I would try to ban and pick all hard-to-kill position 4 and 5 to beat Secret.
@Warcraft I was looking at it from a personnel perspective rather than an in-game perspective.
I haven't looked into the games too much because of the volume. Drafting and gameplay-wise have a lot to unpack. One thing I did notice from the last two grand finals, OGA Dota Pit vs VP.Prodigy and OMEGA League Immortal Division vs OG, is that they love to beat the shit out of a won lane. After winning a lane with early kills, they rotate other cores over to that lane to take their turn, while the core that won the lane takes the vacated lane, but then they group pretty soon after
