just curious I never see it built anymore, not even greaves really. Any heroes still use it at all?

      u kidding ?

Not as dead as my dreams, I see it on aura offlaners in push lineups

Totentanz to The King: M ...

tide, pitlord and maybe omni are the only ones who buy it these days. the manacost and cooldown are too high when everyone is constantly fighting.

early game mek is powerful for teamfight and pushing strat. It's still my first item on Tidehunter in case I dont need force staff.

            Chen

usually i buy it on certain tanky offlaners taht doesnt need blink asap

              Jacked

                Just get Super urn

                Cheap Laugh Guy

Indeed, I didn't even remember there was such an item until you mention.

I made topic like this maybe mount ago,i though same also i expected buff in 7.07 but not...

You would think mek is a very good on io,but not really - especially for super-high manacost.
The thing is there are better items, much better

Isn't it built mainly to sustain pushes and on heroes that excel on sustaining team fights?

Like I can see greaves being used by heroes like underlord, dark seer tidehunter, abbadon, omni, chen, wisp, enigma, undying etc'. Heroes which good at contributing to engagements and providing general utilities

Mekansm manacost was raised when Viper/Razor was building them mid and being unkillable mid game, because Mekansm was a support izi to make cheap component item, but then it was built by ranged cores to work as "the Vanguard for ranged heroes".

After that, its manacost is so high that it completely outclasses those +5 int points (or 60 manapoints), trying to hurt low manapool heroes (Razor and Viper are both agility heroes with restricted manapool early).

The only true reason we don't see mek anymore is spell being more op then ever, pipe doing a better job tanking those (instead of being a equal footing like it used too), and urn being such a great item.

However, you cann't buff back mecka, or you'll have the return of the improved vanguard, that on top of it, help the teammate.

Imo the only way to make mecka a bit better is to nerf glimmer/forcestaff/.. all those cheap ultra strong item, so supports get tempted a bit more by mecka, or ton downs spell (but then we have pipe issue again)

                                its still strong for tide

Tide and Underlord still get it most games. Maybe Kunka as well. I am not even going to talk about heroes mostly neglected in pubs like IO and Dazzle. But yeah, the most prominent Mek carrier back then were Lion, CM, Keeper and Necro. Keeper stopped buying Mek when they gave him scepter. Lion and CM, well I am not sure anymore. The nerf to Necro means he should be tanking up without abusing Ghost Shroud.

                                    Mek is shit.

                                    Greaves is good.

I get mek so I can make Greaves.

We just released an updated hero and facet statistics page featuring more data and advanced filters. Oh, and it supports Turbo!
