anything that uses a projectile is considered ranged

you can have 350 range and still be melee. the number is not relevant.

if ta has no projectile that would be giga cancer, she has 9999 damage in lane and spill damage

Don't mistake range to subdivision of attack (range/melee)
They aren't the same thing

The subdivision only tells whether you have a projectile or not, and what bonus do you recieve from items

Your actual range is not technically related to your attack subdivision

Hmm maybe TA needs a +20 range buff
