lol. you dont really last pick KOTL in pubs. Just first pick KOTL always if you want to. Its not like you r gonna lose your game. I'd suggest you to focus on your item build. However, KOTL is a weak support for postion 5. In my mind he is only position 4 because he needs some space, frankly. There are just stronger heroes for position 4 e.g. sky, balanar and etc.

On the bright side his aghs and first skill are boken AF. Probably, one of the best aghs in the game after Invoker and Treant. His laning kinda sucks tbh. <-- thats the reason we dont really see him that often. He is strong late game tho.

Pl on your team? Pick Kotl.

Mana dependent cores (i.e, storm, ember, tinker)? Pick Kotl.

Any hero in your team who can abuse the cdr provided by chacra magic? Pick Kotl.

You dont wanna pick kotl when the enemy team is playing cave man doto (PA, Spirit breaker, ES, Undy).

You want Kotl mostly in a combo with

- Bristleback
- PL
- Ck

Or just against incoming pushing strat with Chen, Beastmaster etc.

You dont want to pick Kotl with:

- Enigma
- Magnus
- Void

Your blinding light may result in you being on youtube.

I disagree with Lex, you can "Kick" someone into Chrono or Black Hole.
You can pick Kotl every game, but you should start on the Offlane as greedy Pos4.

Always go Forcestaff, Aghs into Gem of Truesight, when there is a Nighs Stalker in the enemy team, you should go Forcestaff into Euls or something without Aghs.

How many fails of the week have we seen with kotl paired with Enigma,Void,Magnus ?

Ofc high skilled kotl player will take bh plays to the next level, while normal skill scrub will save enemies instead. Blinding light as well as recall is a double edge sword and it takes a lot of practise not to fail at.

Nightstalker is mentionable too since you cant heal at night or get godly vision, but its not that big of a deal. Just make sure none of your teammates pick him though it can be rather detrimental...

Nightstalker ruins your game. Besides that, he is a very greedy support and although he can be fine in dual lanes with certain heroes, not having a reliable stun on your pos4 is not a good idea
