Sorry for the noob question but how do I know which brackets are my games in?

    TERRORIST WINS

Go into the section where you can "watch" current games. There's a third option where you can "search". Place "normal", "high", or "very high" in the search query along with your name and it'll display a list of recent games. As to my knowledge, this is the only known way to find it and also works with anyone else. For the ones abnormal characters that can't be typed, copy and paste the name from right clicking steam profile. You're welcome.

Thanks for answering this question. I guess I'll follow up with another on the same topic. How does the game decide which skill level to put you in? is it strictly kda ratio? xp/min? gpm?

Kind of curious. It'd also be nice if dotabuff could track this for you, instead of the convoluted search.

        Thanks

Valve never released any info about how the Matchmaking determine our skill levels. They did that to prevent people to game the system and cheat their way into the very high matchmaking.

Until some weeks ago I was in the normal skill bracket. My KDA ratio didn't change much, but I think it probably has influence in your rating. The only thing that changed considerably when I moved from normal to high was my win ratio, which increase almost 3%, and my total amount of games that now is close to 500.

Interesting. I only have 49 real games so far. I don't always feel like a noob, but guarantee I am. I've been randoming for the past 20 games or so because I'm addicted to the extra gold. Normal is definately where I belong, though I must admit I was slightly disappointed to see that is where ALL of my games have wound up.

            Cheers

That was an amazing comment ramper, just saying (:

I've heard Normal and High MM are pretty big pools (estimates are like 70% Normal and 28% High), but that's only people making guesses.

Randoming is the way to go while learning. Gabe even said that's what IceFrog told him to do in order to get better. The extra gold helps with the learning process because it gives you some more wiggle room. It's also incentive to experiment and try new heroes.

                  Thanks, Ikeeeee. I'm not ashamed!

Nice and helpfull thread you have here i had no idea about that filter.

Its nice to see that all my december games are at very hight except 2 normal yesterday :( but that makes me wonder.I still play with many Russians/Newbie at Europe west that do not co-oparate with team so how did they make it to high level??? I guess that there are some serius problems at MM right now.

G-GOD , actually i think i know the answer, noobs appear in high level games because they just started and might got carried for about 10 games or something , so the MM probably places them in a high lvl game . It bassically imposible for the Mm work as perfect as we woud like.

So, you're suggesting that the longer our winning streak, the faster we enter Very High bracket?

                        Ioku

im pretty sure it's strictly performance per hero along with KDA ratio. wins/losses i feel dont mean much to them. of course this is going by the word's of another fellow player whom has no idea.

                          Max

I think it has something to do with your win/loss ratio. I just had a 12 winning streaks before i lost in a high level game. I checked and found out that my first 10 wins I got are from 'normal' game and the last 2 are 'high level' games. Btw i randomed in all 12 games. So win/loss ratio definitely has an impact.

What do you mean when you say you randommed? The thing where u have 20 heroes to pick from?
