The kill count bug has been around for quite some time and they still haven't fixed it yet. I'm having the same problem but can't be bothered to post any more on dev forums as there are enough kill count complaints and valve is being very slow.
Well, wanting to get the most out of a service is understandable but why would it be such a big deal to having less kills counted? It doesn't change the game or anything.
Lmao, if a kill counter on some random item, on some random hero, on some random game is the biggest problem u have in life, u should be fine i guess. Just wait till u get outside.
Do the strange items still change their name when they're at 2000 kills? I'd have thought they'd have run out of superlatives by then :D
around 800 is max. Kill count is just a small nuisance. The biggest thing I hate about devforum is that these bugs have been acknowledged since 2012 and it has not been fixed yet:

I consider these 3 bugs as a huge nerf to invoker.......
Well, Dota 2 is not the only game Valve owns and these aren't the most noticeable bugs when there were heroes that couldn't get added to CM for almost 1 year because of bugs.
Dota needs a strong foundation before adding more heroes; I hope Valve knows that...... Many bugs have been acknowledge by devforums for over a year now and still have not been fixed. If they keep making new heroes and neglecting bugs, Dota's foundation will slowly look more like an upside pyramid.
To be fair, Grimorum, knowing a bug exists is only 1/10 the problem. The next step is finding out what causes it in the user environment. Then, they can more easily deduce where in the thousands of lines of code they have written there is a tiny bug and fix it. Sometimes that second step isn't even possible, making it even harder to find the badly written code.
The one thing you have to accept is they don't have the solution before their eyes and they're just like "we'll keep these bugs just for now for no reason at all."
They are not making new heroes anyways. The game is just progressing very slowly because as I said, Dota 2 is not the only game they need to take care of.

Is computer programming really that hard? Valve can't even properly record my kills.....
My suit's kill count jumped from 1996 to 2127: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198085434635. However, the count is still vastly incorrect. I should have an extra 340 - 1190 kills after the bug started. Unfortunately, I was only credited 131 kills.
The following shows my calculations. I posted the bug on July 29. I play invoker 2-5 games a day guaranteed. That is equivalent to 34 days. 34x2=68. 34x5=170.
(Somewhat realistic)
Minimum 68 games x 5kills = 340 kills
Maximum 170 games x 7kills = 1190 kills
