I have been thinking as dotabuff only displays max of 2.5k . that confuses me much more than his actual GPM.
There were two major gold exploits (that could result in 1000s of GPM) that have been fixed:
1.) At one point, manta illusions could drop their items, creating them. You could then rush manta to generate items, making thousands of gold each time you used it.
2.) For a while and for some reason, games that were live during a dota 2 update suddenly had cheats enabled without announcement or anything. In other words, -gold 200000 would work (as well as -wtf and any other command). I was in a game where this happened as Lycan. I gave myself huge bursts of gold every now and then. And right as I was throning it, I enabled -wtf and started howling like crazy.
I remember the ilusion bug, not only manta, but with any ilusion rune too. LvL1, ilu rune --> regen, boots, shield.
