well if you afk farm AM to 40 minutes you are doing it wrong. The amount of pressure you can put on the enemy team just with Bfury, Yasha, Vlads, Treads and PMS is ridicolous and you can easily have those items at 25 minutes. Add a vit booster to that and you are a total beast in the midgame.
Proceed the get the usual Manta out of Yasha, Heart out of vit booster, Bfly....
I dont know why people cant pull one of the easiest carries in the game off.
His early game HP is still pretty hidious.
He's fucking ANTI MAGE guys! With that old build "vanguard vlads manta basher" you can easily win 1 vs 1 clash with almost any int hero, what else do you want from ANTI MAGE?
If Mana Break was no longer a UAM (like the buff to entangling claws), do you reckon Maelstrom (2700) + Vlads (2050) could be an alternative to Battle Fury?
Btw one of the ways to buff antimage and some other late carries like PA or PL is to make vanguard disassemble-able. Maybe some stats of vanguard should be lowered (hp or chance of block), but I think it will help. With this vanguard remake you still can shut down carry if you fuck up his early game by agressive trilane and ganks.
A hero that has one and only item build needs to be changed. It just MUST. Watched VG vs NB today, NB picked antimage and he didn't do shit whole game. This meta (ending games by 15 mins) just wrecks him. Before he even farms his core item battlefury, he already lost the game (or won 4v5).
His lategame is ok, but his early to mid game needs buff.
AM's problem is his general squishiness. He has both low armor and low STR gain. He has good laning phase up until lvl 4, then it starts to suck. I personally hate this new meta 'cause it doesn't let hard carries sneak in too much and everyone's going for big magic damage/pushing lineups which is just boring.
Back on the subject, what AM needs is more STR gain, something along the lines of 1.7 - 2.0 He's a freakin' carry and has 2nd lowest STR gain in the game (at a tie with Pugna), this is just too freakin' low. Another issue with him is his only farming potential is through a battlefury which is very expensive (4350g) and offers nothing to cover his weaknesses (armor/HP).
I'm a big AM fan, but honestly, I find myself very frustrated when the enemy team goes and repicks 1-2 heroes just to screw over my game (ar my team doesn't cover me until I get the much needed farm).
On a different note, I believe another thing that needs to be reworked are some items like Tranquils, Battlefury or even Radiance to get these harder carries back in the meta.
Tranquils: revert back to previous version but keep the movement speed changes
Battlefury: reduce dmg by 25 and remove the broad sword component
Radiance: well....just reduce the price of sacred relic, 3800 gold for a 60 dmg item is a bit too much considering it's "younger sister" demon edge provides 46 dmg at just 2400 gold.
Oooor...better yet !!! Make manaburn like feast. Don't just do damage and burn the mana, STEAL IT!!!
