No i typically don't dodge games and don't have multiple accounts with my desk stacked to the hilt with chernobyl energy drinks and a pound of meth to keep me up to play 1 month straight.
on the radiant side: mid has easy access to medium/high camps for extra farming, pulling is easier and the offlaner can pull the dire high camp.
dire has rosh advantage and the offlaner has the ancient camp next to him.
Maybe it's my subconscious, but I feel like I play better on Radiant side. In addition, I like that camera angle from the bottom.
Had to dodge 21 (TWENY ONE) game to finally be placed on the radiant side. Lost as terrorblade because people tend to hate tb a lot and pick everything to shut him down. This game i have seen batrider, doom and od (OD LOL), managed to push one side, all towers and still lost because my team always wanted to go 4 vs 5. It is not like i want to play terrorblade, i just do not want it to be picked by enemies.
Nevertheless it feels like dire always have one great player and three to four bad (actually terrible) players and radiant teams are more consistent. Or i have hallucinations.
Anyway, dodged five more games without any luck. Still placed on the dire side. aaaaaaaaand Lost Connection to Steam
In my opinion the Dire side is better. But ONLY if you can stall the game for about 40-50 minutes. That's when the Rosh advantage starts kicking in for your team.
radiant advantages (off the top of my head)
ancients closer to mid lane
neutral camps closer to mid lane
pull camp + double pull is easier for radiant safelane imo
able to pull large camp from offlane
dire advantages
fairly easy access to sideshop offlane by using a shortcut
mid lane has access to secretshop without having to travel much distance at all (idk if anyone else uses this trick but im not willing to share it)
rosh pit is more secluded within dire side
ancients closer to bot lane
ancients easier to stack imo
I think radiant advantages are better, being able to stack creeps mid on certain heroes, better safe lane pull, big advantages. Radiant junglers can also easily rotate through ancients and the hard/medium camps, dire jungler is a trek to get to ancients, he might as well not bother unless stacked.
Rosh advantage is kinda nil since you push the lane up anyway or rosh when other team is dead, it's a few seconds you don't have to cross the river on dire. All the early roshing heroes will smoke in anyway.
Not sure about rosh advantage at all. I know that statistics says that dire has roshan on farm yet there is no stats of how many times there was a dire teamwipe just outside of rosh pit.
Anyway i see no disadvantage of playing on either side, just wanted to play on radiant (for the only reason that valve was trying to push me into playing dire all the time).
Btw got myself into two radiant games so far. Already told about the first one, in the second one i got a russian under influence, i mean it, he was shouting some gibberish like if he is dying in front of the monitor and then suddenly went silent and afk in game.
So i think valve knew better to not to put me on the radiant side.

Something other than buying from Roshan pit? Or using a QB to cut closer to the SS from the lane?

I feel like its harder to gank Dire's safelane, and it also feels like you can't pass by dire's mid tier 1 without taking shots if you pass by from the bottom just above the river.
ya i was so proud when i was like "man if i can shop from rosh pit maybe i can just cut a few trees and try here"
only needed to do 1 and i had my pro moment
but in retrospect its not that amazin... still useful tho

You have 34 pages of games, 17 on radiant, 17 on dire. You should buy lottery ticket if you think you get radiant too many times in a row. Good luck!

Hey guys how it feels to be on a side that actually HAS GRASS.
Jokes aside. Recently I was playing a lot of solo ranked on differrent accounts and noticed that i am almost always (about nine games out of ten) placed on the dire side.
Today i decided that i want to play on the Radiant side no matter what and i started dodging games if i was on the dire team. So far i have dodged seventeen games without any luck, eighteenth game was on the radiant side and (oh an irony) somebody on the dire side has dodged the game.
