Mekan on meepo? Does it really needed? in General Discussion
TAM DEP TRAI

i watched a lot of Pro Meepo player's reply and not many of them build Mekan for Meepo anymore.
    1) Normally they go treads then aganim or blink directly. They said Mekan useless for fight - go straight aganim or blink and you can enroll in the fighht earlier (i tried this ways and normally i killed more but in the other hand die more)

2)while i watched other player MMR 6000+ he recommended go boot then Mekan. after that can go blink (since after boot and mekan i often get to lvl 10 which will more appropriate to get blink - jump in and use mekan) All of his reply often go for Mekan except some games he dominated get many kills and get more valuable item.
he said through his experiences mmr 5000+ people gank more and Mekan can turn down the table.

So what do you think about Mekan.? now i often build mekan and feel its really useful. i died less and get the same kills as well as farming.

I virtually never get Mek on Meepo.

I tend to play him as a farming carry / pusher.
So I go straight Tranqs -> Aghs

Mek is +4hp regen for ALL Mepos in range but the +Stats only affect the main Meepo.
Aghs give ALL your existing Meepos +190 hp, +130mp, +1 armour, +10 dmg AND you get another Meepo.

Obviously you expect to get more from an aghs because it's more expensive but it's SO much better I rush that first. Also being Meepo you can farm like a mad man so long as you have even a little map control.

i still get mek on meepo.

        Vaikiss`742.

WHY WOULD u buy mek on meepo ever since agh stat shares anything that doesnt give high stat is worthless on meepo

@CaptainDreads: i see you mostly go HOT instead of EOS - is it more useful than EOS ?? Normally i go EOS and Ethernal Blade.

Vaikiss is right on this one, Vlads and Mek were all pre-patch items used to help your "divided we stand" meepo's but with the addition of Sceptre and the fact that you can skill your ult on level three, puts a lot more emphasis on being apart and boosting stats then on group fighting under auras.

...I don't play a lot of Meepo, just an observation of others and data I have access to. Also, Meepo's use Mekanism greedily and it would be an item better bought on someone who will actually use it effectively.

tranquill boots -> blink dagger -> aghanim's scepter
never build mek or heart on meepo. never

                salt enjoyer

Heart is a really good item on Meepo as can situationally be a Mekanism and honestly if you're good enough with any hero you can play him well no matter what you build.

                  Case and Point http://dotabuff.com/players/15478778

Also a number of the top meepo players goes Vlads & Mekanism, others skadi, others heart, and sheep etc. Again, its not really a big deal what you get on meepo as long as you are good enough with him to get the win.

just tried 2 games withyt mekan and lose again. i need practise more i guess. The other pro meepo u sent mostly go mid lane for farming while i'm offlane vs 2 or 3 so its hard to get farm and lvl. i did roaming and gank when get lvl 3 but still....
my common items are mek, eos, sheep and ethenal blade. i dont really like heart though (still build but very rare).
Maybe i should stick with the mekan item for meepo.
(next time i should try mid lane and few difference)

                    CaptainDreads

@8888: I like Heart for the extra 300 additional hp each Meepo gets. After heart 2 that extra 600hp helps a LOT in larger team fights if they kick off. Plus your main Meepo gets the flat strength bonus as well.
After that I will get either another heart , eblade or AC depending on if I need more Base HP, Armour or are in Rat mode

Heart also allows you to not have to send your main Meepo back to get his HP up, so you can almost always have someone on the frontlines

                      MaTT

I always get Heart on Meepo, I really need that tank. I still need lots of practice though. Sometimes I get 2 hearts then they can not kill me :)

                        DOFR

On Meepo support? - If other hero is not going to buy it, sure
On any other type of Meepo? - No, you are going to delay better items

I play on main carry/pusher Meepo
                          I go BoT->Aghs
After that everything depends on situation and pick, but most of the time HoT(@CaptainDreads 760 hp for each Meepo btw, not 300)/EB, then Manta/Skadi

first thing first, support meepo is none existent. just because someone tried to play him as a support it doesn't make him a support hero.
he is as much support hero as pudge is.

2nd, you get meka primarily for yourself. you can't always rely on your support to have it on time/use it on time. even more so if you are aggressive type of player. few can match your mobility around the map and relying on support to always heal you at a moment notice is gonna leave you more times dead than not.

you tailor your builds how it suits you/game. not to some shit you've read in a guide somewhere.
also I can give you a hundred examples where I was glad I had meka on myself rather than not having it. it pays off. surviving just one fight can net you as much as 1k gold, which is already half the price. it lets you be way more cooky and aggressive in soloing single heroes. etcetera etcetera.

only downside, and I mean a truly single downside any competent meepo will say is (and I disregard 'it's bad' type of comments because it shows how clueless people are) is that it delays your dagger/aghs.
again, if you can go without it, go. if you are playing with a team who you can communicate with, you can skip it.
in a random ass pub everyone here is playing? yeah, I wouldn't count on it

                            Von Darkmoor

Back in the days Stylez allways went Boots of travel, lothar, Dagon and shit but that was before aghs thingy, i wonder if he still plays. The dude even had a song about him sorta legend of DL and Dota this pre twitch mostly so you infants prolly never heard of him and he as far as i know never took the first place from babyknight.
