MMR is about win/loss...not kill deaths...if you loose more matches you will be in 700mmr irrespective of your superior KDA. You don't have to die 60 times each match...die 10-15 times on an average and you will get low MMR during calibration.

^ WRONG, calibration matches do count KDA, hero damage and tower damage.

@ dawn ,my friend who played ranked as soon as he hit lvl 13 (first time trying dota or any moba for that matter) and lost all 10 calibration games still got 1600 mmr, you have to have 20% winrate or below to get less than 1000k mmr, and kda actually matters.

HD is counted in calibrations game, tahts why we see tards picking zeus to get high HD and calibrate at 5k

@Sunrise, dude ... my god i went 6-4 in my first 10 calibration games and u know my MMR? 1100 :( may be its true that even b4 we hit lvl 13 there is a hidden mmr..else how will i end up 1100 with 6-4 ? Also my average KDA per match is like 10-8-10 in those games, definitley i am not feeding like crazy dude... but there r different strange ways u end up on MMR ...who knows lol

you can lose all 10 and get 4k+, and win all 10 and get 3k.. its just a method to check if their predictions of your skill was indeed correct. I assume they'll use your previous general stats (such as average gpm/xpm, HD, TD, KDA, etc) to measure if you can keep it up. if you do amazing during the calibration period, in comparison with your previous matches, then you'll get an inflated MMR (lets say a 6k friend plays your 10 calibrations matches eventhough you played like a 1k MMR, probably he will get your MMR up to 3k's).

if ur at 1100 MMR is because you play like a 1.1k MMR player, if you had won your 10 matches probably you'd be sitting around 1.4k maybe, who knows. but surely there are lots of things that you're doing wrong without even realizing it, I coached a 560 MMR guy from this forums. He was really bad, he couldn't do simple stuff as switch between summoned units to take away aggro, even with me telling him to do that he couldn't.

That should be your case too, you lack mechanical skills, and the only way to improve that is practicing (playing).
