you should go 3-2-0-1 by 6 and then 3-4-0-1 by 8.
ava damage 100 / 180 / 260 / 300
toss damage 75 / 150 / 225 / 300
one, avalanche's damage is doubled by toss, not toss' damage, that means that the bonus damage from avalanche which is 80 per level now becomes 160 per level. compared to toss' damage which is 75 damage, or 90 if the unit is being tossed (75 x 1.2)
two, the last level of avalanche only adds 40 damage (80 when doubled) making it worse post-6 compared to getting toss which increases your damage by 101 (75 x 1.35)
at level 5 if you have a 3-2 build then you will deal (260 x 2) + (150 x 1.2) = 700 magic damage
with 2-3 you will deal (180 x 2) + (225 x 1.2) = 630 damage
at level 7, you compare a 2-4-0-1 build (which happens if you go 2-3 by level 5), to a 3-3-0-1 build (which happens if you go 3-2 by level 5)
2-4-0-1 deals (180 x 2) + (300 x 1.35) = 765 damage
while 3-3-0-1 deals (260 x 2) + (225 x 1.35) = 824 damage
at level 8 you will have the same skill build, 3-4-0-1, but having 2/3/3 points into avalanche at levels 3/5/7 is better than having 1/2/2 levels into it instead.
a 4-4-0-0 build will deal 960 damage
• (300 x 2) + (300 x 1.2)
while a 3-4-0-1 build will deal 925 damage
•(260 x 2) + (300 x 1.35)
however you can make up that 35 magic damage which results in 26 HP removed, by hitting someone with the extra damage from grow which gives 50 more attack damage
in order for that 50 extra attack damage to be reduced to 26, you'd need 16 armour to reduce it that 50 damage to ~25 HP removed, so that means that if someone has less than 16 armour, a 3-4-0-1 build as well as an auto attack does more damage than a 4-4-0-0 build.
