When i play party mmr i often get 6k's in my team and guess what - most of them play worse then 4k's. So if you think highest mmr means anything - you're fuckin wrong. Just do your best, play what you usually play and you're best at and thats it.
Either go mid or if I'm forced to support by them Ill just go Visage and roflstomp.

When I see I am highest mmr I go hmm I am highest mmr . That's pretty much it I don't change style.
If i'm the highest on my team, I tell them, people you are shit out of luck...sorry for an ez -25 mmr...that's pretty much it.
In all fairness I say the same thing to a teammate who has a long win streak that they risk. "Why would you waste your streak on me?!?!?!?" I immediately regret my decision.
