funny i think i read something about dota being dead after rubberband mechanic being introduced and after reborn dropped - literally in the period of dota being as popular as its ever been
im also pretty sure there were tons of people who cried that dota was dead in 2011 because theyre under valve now and everything was so dogshit you guys!!!
From silly meme back mechanics and ones that slowly alter the level of skill and precision as well as the reward for playing great, I've come to realize only one thing playing this maddening game in its current form.
anyone who thinks dota circa 2013 before the "awful" changes(rubberband being the first implemented) was more "skill based", ""hardcore"" or """"""""deep""""""""" is delusional - ure talking about time when u could literally go pick slark ember ta or some shit 50 games in a row and win 70% of them by doing the exact same shit over and over again simple because noone cared to play around u and people were so bad that just knowing basic(as of now) mechanics and being good at running around the map killing shitstans would let u solo the game
now u have to work with 4 other people in a team game(LOL????? icefrog kys retard ahaha! xD) or at least be smart enough to actually outplay your opponents(keep in mind that 478723345344 new interactions have been added since then) to win and its so awful!
Face it you will never go back to a game that was more challenging and with more emphasize on how you play and not who you pick. A game that focused on how good you play as a team and not how good your team makes play together.
really coherent and non-contradictory stuff op got there
We've fallen so hard and yet foolish redditors continue to be the biggest influence.
when was the last time someone saw a nice qop vs puck or similiar 1v1 lane in a pro game? better yet, when was the last time u saw a pro games outcome be significantly determined by the puck or qop outlaning the other one 1v1? because i honestly cant remember.
this is why i dont like the direction of dota since ti4. they do all these different changes that each make individual laning skill, which is what i personally find interesting in dota, mean less and less in all 3 lanes.
the support changes have sucked too. it was more interesting when playing a good support was about knowing how to zone/pull effectively and judging when u can effectively roam for a kill. most of the time now its just some support brainlessly running at a lane and harassing.
im sure they do this on purpose to please the people who dont actually understand what theyre watching, but this is why i personally dislike the games changes since ti4.
the fact that there are no 1v1s anymore has nothing to do with the way the game is balanced - its just people getting better and realizing that slapping enemy cores ass is more efficient than just sitting on pulls all the fucking time. icefrog nerfs roaming for how many patches in a row now(bounty nerf, exp range nerf, deny exp nerf = more incentive to go 2x offlane, tower range being almost on the edge of the ramp) and people are still doing this shit
i also dont see why would laning be a deciding factor - not only its a relatively minor(game time wise) part of the game, but apart from pogchamp matchups like qop puck there are matchups that are just unfair and there is very little room for outplaying)
zoning/pulling effectively is also infinitely less complex than rotating correctly, supports have more viable alternatives to sink their time into and are as impactful as ever. in fact, i think thats fairly well balanced now - u dont get to get easy levels+gold for doing nothing anymore, if u want to rotate u have to be smarter about it because of the tower range, and at the same time u dont have to walk with boots force 30 mins in because bounties give A LOT of gold now, playing smart as a support is incredibly rewarding and is what wins or loses u the game most of the time
i dont see any problems with a team game being more teamwork oriented than ever before: i dont like some mechanics, i dont like how valve handles dota and i dont like it being balanced by 3k (((support))) main redditors - but i do like the direction the games moving in
if theres one major strategic thing id change about the game is nerf camping the lane from min 0 - i feel like as a core i have much less impact on how the game will turn out because the decision of whom to help and whom to sack is entirely on supports and they dont always understand how power spikes work and why i cant keep laning against pango/bird as luna when they reach 6 no matter how many times they kill them beforehand
maybe im just a bad core though, often when get a kill on some pos1/2 who played like a total moron i think that i would probably do the exact same thing they did

i have the same feelings about playing against shadow fiend
i don't think i'd win against him with any other hero, i do the same stupid shit that loses me the lane

Rage comics aren’t for normies, okay? They represent an integral part of our emotions that can only be expressed in the form of hilariously hyperbolic comics. They can tell stories with as little as four panels, and they can connect people with feelings they’ve never felt before. Rage comics aren’t and will never be dead as long as humans perform and appreciate art. Do you think art ever died? Just like matter, art can neither be created or destroyed. Art exists in us as an intelligent species, and we will never let it die lest we lose ourselves to the darkness. Rage comics can be thought of as art in its purest elemental form, created by our fundamental instincts that have evolved after millions of years of life and death. We as intellectuals provide rage comics with the pedestal of honor they deserve, and I expect you to do the same.
