Personally it hit me when I started to go to the gym, a gym session takes me about 2.5h from my home back to my home. sounds like a long time, but when I'm not going, I'm just wasting this time doing nothing. It's going to 19:00 nevertheless before I start doing homework anyways, so why not do something recreational until then? Also I'm not going to bed until 22:00 so I have 3 hours to learn, each and every day. Not sure how hard your subjects are but when I put my days in such a diagram I see how much time I have which usually goes to waste.
To further add to my point; fuck dota. A game of Dota takes around an hour, about 45 minutes when it's a stomp from either side. And what do I gain in this time? Absolutely nothing. I either gain or loose 25 virtual points (which I'm going to loose again next game anyways). I may have fun. but yeah, you see that "may" there. It's more likely that I'm going to end up frustrated due to that game, I haven't met my expectation, my teammates were retards, I should have picked something else, etc. I'd rather play something like minecraft in the same time or watch an episode or two of a series, which guarantees me a positive (or at least a neutral) experience.

You can work 8 hours a day and still have like 5 hours of unoccupied time (counting in travel time, sleep and hygiene)
5 hours is a lot, if you work disciplined you can repeat an semesters subject in that time. (assuming you were kinda following it and not just slacking off like retard)
and that's just a single day, albeit you'd have no free time, but who cares, your education should be highest priority if you really want to make it.

i am the only one in my group who has completed the 1st lab, and we also will have to defend it yet

and we only see her once per week so we have a limited time frame and pretty much no second chance
and we have to do 7 labs until january so if it keeps going on like that we will never make it in time
MEANWHILE
the other half of the group passes labs to a professor who is like complete opposite, u just tell him some bullshit and he is like "ok ok u know it here's ur access/defence, just fuck off"

basically for ur lab to be scored u need 3 signatures from ur professor: access, completion and defence or w/e it's called
access is signed when u've read the theory and can tell a professor what the fuck are u actually going to do in the lab
when it is signed u can go to the laboratory which contain all the shit u need to complete the experiment and write down its results
if u do that correctly u get a 2nd sig, completion
and then u have to answer some questions about lab's subject and mb do some other shit to show that u've grasped it
and then u get 3rd sig, defence
and only then ur lab is scored
and this bitch didn't want to sig me completion because i haven't put a "t" letter in the word so she couldn't read it
