postimage is a good site actually, not as cool as imgur but works

img code works for any picture on the internet. the visibility of that picture depends on the internet options of the person who browse the page though. for example if i use normal dns of my router, i cant browse imgur nor any picture uploaded to imgur, because for some reason its blocked in turkey. but since im using google dns, i can browse them without problems.

you have to use the url to the image file. e.g., for this image, it's: https://i.imgur.com/MFiHK1S.png

if you leave the extension off, you're linking to an imgur page, not an imgur image.

edit: whaaaaaaat. That's not us. They've disabled hotlinking, at least for our site, if not others. This is the first I've noticed it.

I messaged imgur staff to see if there's anything we could do to work it out. Since it's a Saturday on a holiday weekend, I don't expect to hear back from them for several days. They might just say "don't hotlink imgur images", so I can't make any promises about hotlinking imgur images at this time. For now the one thing I can say is that I'll look into it. I have no idea if we'll be able to restore that functionality or not, because that's largely up to imgur.

if they do this then they are retarded af... honestly they should think about committing suicide or something, because that shit is the most retarded thing I've ever seen so far.

A shame really that they are changing things up like that, while I may understand that there is a solid reason behind it, it still is a pity, imgur was pretty handy until now.

just use gyazo, make a picture in 2 seconds, write .png at the end of the link and its just as good
