Lol, Me as experienced player never use armlet, there is no need for it. Blademail is gut if you are solo offlane LC. Mostly I get blink b4 blade mail so duels would be easy, sometimes enemy's are tanky thats when I get it.
I've seen and used either and they are both good, depending on circumstances. Both armlet and blademail are extremely good items after the buff, however. Armlet now gives you more armor than blademail which is absurd, but blademail's mechanic now makes it better when combined with tankiness from armor since you reflect based on enemy's defenses, not your own.
Before, going AC blademail would be counter productive most of the time since you'd really want raw hp and as little armor as possible to reflect the most damage, this all changed with the new patch. But at the same time, getting 10 armor from armlet is just fucking ridiculous, lifesteal based heroes really benefit from armor, and getting 10 armor early makes you tanky as fuck as far as physical damage is considered.
Haven't played any dota seriously since the new patch (only trolled people in unranked) but every single stream I've seen somebody pick an "armlet hero", there's about 80% possibility they get armlet now, it's just too good. Wraith Kings, Naixes, Legions, CKs, etc and in general strength hero who wants to tank up but also hit really hard, all at the price of 2300.
You'd want to get blademail against heroes that hit really hard but aren't that tanky. It's basically useless against heroes like morphling, wk, etc, who will just tank out both your own and their own damage. It's not unheard of to completely skip tanky items and go for maximum damage (kinda ilke TA) to make your duels last a second, but this will need team cooperation and can fail really bad plus you can't do this against teams that have BKB piercing disables (you need that BKB if you do this).
Armlet is a really good pickup when you cannot think of anything else to get early in the game, but you want to spend money on something before the next deciding fight starts, it's also convenient since it can be bought whole from the main shop, or you can buy cheap parts if you're about to die, etc. Having +10 armor and +65 damage and +25 IAS compared to 2300 gold in the bank in an early fight is a huge thing, especially if you can keep from getting kited and disabled.
there is no need for armlet for me dag blademail is core, and lc isnt a flash farmer and likely rely on kills in mid game so 2400 gold is hard to come by. it is better to get bkb or ac.
Yeah, I always do Blink Dagger as my first item on LC after Boots of Speed, but I'll change my build from Armlet to Blademail as you guys said and since it's not counterable in our current patch.
If you skill up properly, and they don't have too many hard disables (why would you even pick LC if they do?) you do not even need to rush blink or another initiation item. You can move at max movement speed, after all.
I am pretty sure if you play IO + LC in normal/high skill you do not need any items to win to begin with.
Armlet on LC was op last patch, but now it's very situational.
Blademail is core. I usually go brown shoes into blademail and get my blink and a few duel wins in under 15 minutes, I have a blink ready too.
Why not both? Blademail is core but armlet is a nice item on LC as well.
any hero that got blademail before the patch should be getting it 110% of the time after this patch hit

Anyway blink blademail bkb is good. You want your dueled target to die. Buying bkb is gonna give enough time for u/team to finish the target. If you wanna play a carry role better pick something ELse

If u target to duel strong teamfight supports (Omni, Wyvern, Warlock, ...) get an Armlet. If u target to duel strong carries (PA, Jugg, AM, ...) get a Blademail.
You can get 1 of the 2, but should not get both. Slot is very important on LC as he already wastes 3 slots for boots, blink dagger and TP.
