I like troll, most people don't right now. You kind of need a good start on him though or he's bad cus he buys cheap items but he needs a lot of them to fight cus he'll get kited and blown up. Bkb is still core and you need some mobility, s&y, blink or shadowblade, though I never get blink.
Also if you're coming online about the time enemy carries are getting mkbs you are in trouble.
I like echo sabre on him a lot, if you go phase, aquila, dominator, sabre, s&y, bkb. Yes you have just 6 slotted yourself at 20 mins but you're also an unstoppable force and can sell off aquila for a butter/mkb/daedulus and game should be over by ~30 mins.
when troll was cancer ppl almost never bought bkb in pubs. always phase aquila (drum/hotd) sny skadi -> shit like satanic
bkb is almost always need imo, there's usually a bunch of magic stuns that screw troll up a lot. And ehco is amazing. Good mana regen so you can sell aquila and be fine, a bit of stats, but that extra attack early means instant 2 fervor stacks + chance to bash early. You ramp up so fast with it.
I think skadi is a tad overrate and would usually want more dmg over raw stats at that point. If you have bkb + s&y you will have quite a bit of hp.
