One of the best people to watch for drafting is PPD. I suggest watching some of his videos
The goal is to both realize what strategy their drafting around (greedy, aggressive, or defensive, etc) and countering it, while concealing your own strategy, and trying to make a team that complements each other with balanced farming, split push, killing, etc. Versatile heroes like silencer, mirana, veno and monkey king, who are very versatile heroes fitting many positions to confuse/mislead the enemy. For example if you are going for a drow push strat, you can first pick mirana, they assume she is mid, and they pick ogre to pressure super early and to deny the ogre drow combo. In response you draft a tanky front liner hard to gank mid like dk and put mirana support. It may be a trashy example but the point is picks like that can help you dodge enemy counters by shifting their position and lessening the blow and responding with a counter pick/ban whatever it is.
do not undertake this mode when u solo, it is more confusing to find out the random players have weird hero pool
its important to know what heroes your friends can play and draft mostly them. so you dont end up with shit like "oops man sorry i can't play outworlddevourer middle we gonna lsoe"

I've been in only one CM match, and I'm the one drafting, and the draft is pretty shi**y, but the process of drafting is addicting.
So I want to ask about the basics of drafting in CM, like what to ban in the first round, what to pick and counter pick, and so on.
Hope you guys can help me...
