I assume it means that no aspect of the spell is affected by spell immunity. This means they will still become visible and detonate when a spell immune enemy walks into the radius and they will still attempt to apply their damage to the spell immune unit. (However since BKB grants 100% magic resistance as well as spell immunity, the magic damage of the mine will be reduced to 0).

My answer explains exactly what it means. Damage isn't the only thing that can go through spell immunity and magic damage doesn't necessarily mean its blocked by spell immunity.
