Yes. The only difference is now you have to be level 20 to calibrate your international ranked, same as normal ranked.

But season mmr isn't capped at 3.5k, so it's better

So if I didn't callibrate before playing my international ranked, chances are that my season mmr would be higher than 3.5k?
