1-(1-0.25) * (1-0.75) * (1--0.45) = ~0.72
so it is working as intended, reducing 81% to 72%
Magic resistance stacks multiplicatively and ancient seal is just -magic resistance. So when you factor it into the formula you can see that the more magic resistance you have the less of an effect -magic resist has.
he actually resists the magic dmg amplification by 81% aswell
case a:
magic dmg amp 45% (no talent)
resists 81% of the amp: 45% * 0,19 = 8,55%
magic resist with seal = 81% - ~9%= 72%
case b:
magic dmg amp 60% (with talent)
resists 81% of the amp: 60% * 0,19 = 11,4%
magic resist after seal: 81% - ~11% = 70%
its wierd but it makes sense
am doesnt only resist magig dmg, but also that debuff
same goes for veil - it puts him to 76%
the wording is wrong. for decrepify for example, it doesnt actually reduce magic resistance by 60%, it amplifies the magic damage the target takes by 60%. this is true for all similar spells (ancient seal, ghost scepter, veil, ghost shroud).
so in am case, he has 81.25% magic res. he would normally take 19.25 damage from a 100 magic damage nuke, if you amplify it by 60%, it is 30.8 damage, which means he would have 69.2% magic res now (81.25 - 69.2 is 60% of 100 - 81.25)
I guess you can see it either way and it works.
