Is the new system live ? And how does it work ? Will we still get a number in addition to the medal or just a medal ?

Unfortunately I never got to 5k on the old rating system. Feelsbad.

@Cookie: Why would you want them to be combined? It's bad because you can have friends with Super high skill playing low mmr accounts to boost your account? >_<

Seasoned ranked may be an incentive to start again.

My party/solo are both 4k trash, so idc => of course playing random all the time is trash + ruin games

then Max mmr will reach 100k soon lol, and there are pp playing with smurf all the time, enjoy if it happens

all you'd have to do is penalize the higher mmr player for losing a lower match more.

so instead of going -25 he'd go -50 or win +5

this will discourage queuing with lower players for easier games.

They better learn from Overwatch's improvements on the gain/loss thing. The medal system in there is so nice. Carrying a shit team with 5 gold medals means you lose practically no ranking points and if you manage to win with 5 gold medals, it gives you extra bonuses. Everybody gains or loses based on performance benchmarks set by the players in the game themselves. Fixes a lot of issues because boosters go up super fast and toxic retard n00bs go down extra fast. That's just one of many things they'll have to do with this though. One of the biggest reddit gripes has been the thought that "people who worked hard for their mmr are gonna lose it" and at first I was thinking I should calm them all down because its not even here yet and we're fear-theorizing. Then, I realized a total reset is actually what SHOULD happen this time around. Instead of these bullshit calibrations that aren't really calibrations at all, a real reset would put "very high skill" back on a pedestal because it will actually be filled with our best again

the " team game doesnt exist. i win every game 1vs9 " ( arc spameer btw lul) " guy, finally got the lessons .
i predicted that comming though , everything in it's time XD.

Not much is going to change. You'll calibrate every six months, and MMR will be replaced by a medal equivalent.

Bads will be bads. Pros will be pros.

A lot of these query threads about the new system are sub-2k players hoping to find a way to trick the system to calibrate higher (like spamming Zeus).
