45 damage for just 2100ish gold is crazy good value vs 2700 gold gives u only 24 damage. But the biggest value of a maelstrom is that in a team fight setting those random 140 bounces really add up. Could be the difference between a winning team fight and and losing one. Hard to gauge.
imo maelstorm is better if u plan on farming but if u want to fight earlier then u get crystalys, idk im just some 4k noob
no value from maelstorm is procs when shoving the lanes and farming the lane it hepls u farm faster when ur farming speed is dogshit
Crystalys is good when you have a hero with a high attack speed that can proc the critical strike on a single target or a hero with a right click spalsh damage like Sven or Kunkka. It's also easier to build up its base components in the early game since they are not that expensive giving a quicker power ramp. Maelstrom is great for farming and team fighting, but doesn't have as high single target damage as Crystalys but will do more team damage with enemies clumped together. So it all depends on the match lineup and situation.
In the mid game, I'd lean toward Crystalys if I have a hero with good attack speed and ganking potential.

I saw some matches that they pick crystalys over maelstrom. It's being applied to heroes like Juggernaut , Ember, and Lone Druid (maybe more heroes already applied this).
So, What's your thought about it? Which one is the most impactful? especially in mid-game.
