For team and player tabs relying on the available statistics is essential. When analyzing hero meta, there is quite a bit of room for speculation on what could happen during the tournament. There is decidedly less so when it comes to team performances, so stats and subjective team rankings are what we are going to rely on when making predictions.
BOOM Esports has the highest average kill of any team. There is one thing to consider though: will they perform at the same level on the international stage as they did in the regional competitions? If you don’t believe they will, going for OG is a safe bet and they are also going to be our choice for most kills and most assists in a game.
Fewest deaths category statistically belongs to RNG. They are also a team most likely to win the shortest game, in our opinion. They have a highly aggressive playstyle and the skill to back it up, so their games are usually on the shorter side.
Team Aster is the direct opposite of that. We think they will win the longest game and they also have the longest game length average.
Finally, for most and least unique heroes picked we are going with Secret and Thunder Awaken. Secret is statistically one of the most diverse teams going into TI. They are only truly rivaled by Team Liquid and both choices are valid.
Thunder Awaken is a bit of a Dark Horse, but selecting them for the “fewest different heroes picked” is by no means a sign of disrespect. They just have a very clear and very specific approach to Dota, rarely deviating from it.
Somnus is our pick for the highest kill average. One of the better teams and easily one of the strongest midlaners is already a powerful combo, but we also need to keep RNG playstyle in mind: they play for and around Somnus, resulting in a very high average.
OG, on the other hand, frequently switches their “Star” across all three positions, but when it is his time to shine, bzm shines the brightest.
Monet and the conservative Team Aster approach are a no-brainer for the lowest death average category. As is Kaka for the highest assist average.
For most assists in a game we are going with a player from the European region, though. Team Secret sometimes has one of those explosive games, hence Zayaz is a good candidate for the category.
Yatoro makes absolute sense for the highest last hit average, he is leading in this stat in the current patch. For most last hits in a game, we are betting on one of the typical K1 Wraith King games, where he farms the whole map in under one minute and that does it again, and again.
Raven is statistically the highest average GPM core and we don’t think Fnatic are in any way outclassed by the competition for him to give up this position. For the highest GPM in a game, though, we need a very strong Alchemist player and in our opinion, Ame is the best candidate for this category.
Finally, for most unique heroes you can’t go wrong with Resolution. He is more or less the biggest reason Team Secret is the most diverse team: he can play pretty much everything at a very high level.
gl to all
Most Last Hit Pick K1 and reasoning with Wraith King is contraticting your hero pick for that category which you gave to Naga Siren in your other post.
Yes it does, but none of it is exact science, you know. Looking at previous years, getting 10 or so correct is already "good" statistics-wise.
Blizzzz, highest last hits avg, most last hits in a game and most GPM in a game belongs to my boi RTZeeeeeeeee.
i believe in team spirit! thye will win ti11
Do yourselves a favor and pick LGD and Ame for everything
