@Allison
you have 5.8k, you're allowed to do so EleGiggle
like yeah i'm not against having some funny moments once in a while but when there're people shouting at each other during the lessons for whole day (or even more), it sucks
jesus christ guys, am I the only one bad at math?
it smells like a scientific lab in here, and I'm just like the, pizza delivery guy coming there to give you the food and discovering your world from the door.
@mokujin
Thanks, I know wolfram alpha, the only problem is that it doesn't show me how to solve it, just the solution
btw, check this: https://twitter.com/wacnt
Still it is fascinating how you guys love the mathematical problem solving.
Even tho our interests may not be the very same I think the sense of discovery or accomplishment is what makes it so satisfying.
@Yoshi I haven't been online in Steam for ages because I dont have enough time (i dont have dota installed either so theres no point, since i can still talk to thr same poeple here)
The only thing I can sacrifice for dota is sleep, which isn't possible at the moment (I'm sleeping 4-5 hrs daily due to full time work + study commitments). RIP.
integers is the most legit way to calculate the sum of values of a function cz basically u calculate the S of the figure limited by the graph of this function
however in most cases u either use a formula for geometric regression, or guess the limit and prove that it is actually the limit you were supposed to find using the definition
if the limit of the values of a function exists and it is non-zero, then the sum of all the values is -inf, 0 or +inf, in case it can be found at all and the function is normal
i wanted to suggest wolframalpha but mokujin already did it
this stuff is not only a good calculator, but it also providees you with the actual solution of equasions
@triple sadly i don't have any clue about how integers work, in calculus we're just at limit in certain point of a function
"if the limit of the values of a function exists and it is non-zero, then the sum of all the values is -inf, 0 or +inf, in case it can be found at all and the function is normal"
try to sum 1/(2^n) with n going from 1 to ∞
it has limit and it's certainly not going to infinity
i suppose i can't move anywhere without calculus (again, dammit), thanks for help though
its intuitively obvious because if the function is not discontinuos or periodical, and after certain point all the values are close to a certain number not equal to 0; then if we sum the values since this point all together (and there are infinity of them), we will get infinity. well, mb minus infinity, but it doesnt matter.

limits are gay
^ i agree only because i don't know how to find them except some special cases (like in the very basics of calculus)

this is THE SHIT when it comes to math

use these commands to become the One True King of Westeros

im fucking shit at maths too but there is just some stuff everyone needs to know
they teach calculus in school normally xD
I find myself being the more abstract guy, less calculation and more ideas.

Wierd questions
arin, there is big orange button on the right, just below "input interpretation" that sais "STEP-BY-STEP SOLUTION" that shows you how to solve it
Still it is fascinating how you guys love the mathematical problem solving.

but that's only for users paying it, isn't it?
i can't see anything
thats very deep
@yoshi
don't worry i'm dumb as fuck when it comes to math, even some easy stuff takes me so long to solve
:)) love u all
@Arin
u need to play more dota with me
@Mokujin
Why dont i ever see u online on steam? did u delete me? :(
fuck math im gonna read some relentless posts SoonerLater
that was NOT a good idea sign me thE FUCK OUT bad shit bad sHit thats some bad shit right there
Time to slay some shit stains and show them how to dumpster kids.
you wouldn't imagine how much i hate maths
here's what i think of maths http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wFDWP5JwSM
The step by step solution used tobe available for free at some point, i cant check anymore cause it's not loading
I prolly should've checked before advertising it lol
@Yoshi I haven't been online in Steam for ages because I dont have enough time (i dont have dota installed either so theres no point, since i can still talk to thr same poeple here)
make sure to group up with me when you will have time again :)

@allison i can give you math lessons in exchange with dota lessons EleGiggle
@aFeect I thought that I'll see your selfies with afro LMAO
█▄༼ຈل͜ຈ༽▄█ yeah I work out ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

about relentless' posts - there are certain things that you'd better not know about, like 2g1c, and this guys' thoughts are one of these.
about solutions in wolfram - there is a "free pro trial", and you can use it forever by re-purchasing it over and over again.
maths = best shit
are u talking about meth?
that too

@arin
the limit of the values of this function is 0
limit of the values V_k of a function as k goes to infinity =/= the sum of values
ah, fuck
i thought we're talking about the sum
but damn, i still think that i could find a function that doesn't have these limits
gimme a second
1+1/(2^n)
xD
do u mean
lim x -> (-)inf f(x)
this shit?
just lost a game with 50% fucking packet loss all the time. WTF is this?
also who the fuck do I have to belive?
look at this 2 infos, totally different ffs

arin
what do u think the sum of values fo this function is?
if we fuck all the rules of maths in the ass and use infinity as a number, it will be 1*infinity + 1
its intuitively obvious because if the function is not discontinuos or periodical, and after certain point all the values are close to a certain number not equal to 0; then if we sum the values since this point all together (and there are infinity of them), we will get infinity. well, mb minus infinity, but it doesnt matter.
